Terms G-L

GELOY®

An advanced amorphous terpolymer resin of acrylic-styrene-acrylonitrile (ASA) that in highly durable and weather resistant - manufactured by General Electric.

GFCI Breaker

(Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter, aka GFI) A special type of circuit breaker designed to shut power off if there is a leak of electricity detected in the spa equipment.

GFI

(Ground Fault Interrupter, aka GFCI) See GFCI breaker.

Hard Water

The term used to describe water that is high in calcium or magnesium. High levels, usually over 400 PPM, can lead to clarity and scaling problems, if not treated. Source of the calcium can be natural or can be contributed by other spa chemicals such as calcium hypochlorite.

Heater Element

A special electrical heating element designed to provide efficient spa heating.

Ionizer

Jet

A plumbing device that directs pressurized air and/or water to desired areas of a spa.
