Full-foam Insulation

Full-foam insulation is a process by which the entire cavity of the spa is filled with an expanding polyurethane foam. Most spas manufactured today use this method of insulation because it both insulates and supports the spa's shell. However, the type of insulation used is often a low-density, open-cell, packaging-type foam that actually  provides a marginal amount of insulation, and can result in expensive heating costs.

Repair costs could also be quite high for a simple seal replacement in a full-foam insulated spa vs. other types of insulation techniques. For full-foam spas, most of the foam must be removed in order to locate the point at which the leak began.
